Chapter 1066:

Letty drew a slow breath, steadying herself as she masked her nerves behind a stiff, professional demeanor. She deliberately avoided Rylie’s eyes and raised her voice, though tension threaded through her words. “I’m going to have to ask you to leave. Causing a disturbance in a public area of the Academy violates campus policy and disrupts both students and visitors. Connor is a leading student representative, and his judgment deserves respect. Please depart now, or I will have to call security.”

By siding with Connor, she wielded authority, rules, and rank as weapons to force Rylie out—as if banishing her could somehow erase the embarrassment Letty still carried.

Connor’s face settled into smug satisfaction as he shot a challenging stare toward Rylie. Beside him, his follower straightened, mirroring Connor’s inflated confidence.

Though several students and visitors sensed the obvious bias in Letty’s response, no one spoke up. They only exchanged uneasy, sympathetic glances in Rylie’s direction. Anyone could see Rylie was headed for trouble.

The faint smile on Rylie’s lips deepened, yet her gaze remained cool and sharp.

She muttered under her breath, “I truly don’t understand how Rory ended up with someone so… unaware.”

Letty burned with anger, her breathing uneven as she fought to stay composed. Without another word, she grabbed her phone and called out, “Security! We have a disruption at the main bulletin board—please come immediately!”

Rylie gave a soft, amused laugh. “No need for the fuss. I’m going.”

She turned calmly away from the crowd, pulling out her own phone as she walked and dialing Dennis. “Dennis, how does stew sound for dinner? Shall we meet at the usual place?”

Dennis sounded puzzled on the other end. “Why aren’t you coming into the Academy?”

Rylie glanced back toward the campus gates. “Oh, just a little welcoming committee. The faculty and a student representative decided I shouldn’t linger over that old score you posted. Apparently, it wasn’t a good look in front of visitors.”

Dennis’s voice rose instantly, thick with disbelief and anger. “What? They made you leave? Over that score? Who would dare do that?”

As he continued venting, Rylie could almost picture the stormy look on his face, her smile quietly widening. Still, her tone stayed calm and reassuring. “It’s really fine. I’ve already left, and it’s getting late. Let’s just meet at the restaurant.”

“Wait for me—I’ll be there shortly,” Dennis replied quickly.

He ended the call, still simmering with anger. Just then, an S-grade instructor arrived to deliver some documents. Dennis immediately asked her, “That ancient score I posted on the bulletin board—did it cause some kind of incident? Do you know what happened?”

“It seems so,” the instructor answered cautiously. “There was quite a crowd gathered earlier. Is something the matter?”

Dennis’s voice took on a commanding edge. “Find out who was behind it—now.”

Startled by his intensity, the instructor nodded swiftly. “I’ll look into it right away,” she said before hurrying off.

Rylie had just finished ordering when Dennis rushed into the restaurant. He went straight to her and pulled her into a warm hug. “It’s been too long! You’ve grown even more lovely, Rylie. I can’t help but envy Kendrick for having a granddaughter like you.”

She smiled gently, patting his shoulder as she handed him a bag from the table. “This is a fresh batch of herbal tea—better than the last one, and I adjusted the flavor. Just don’t overdo it, alright? Too much isn’t good for you.”
