Chapter 1081:
A D-tier instructor who had publicly sided with Connor, who had gained her position through her father’s influence—she had already provoked Dennis’s displeasure.
Dennis spoke plainly, his tone edged with authority. “I’ll inform your father of everything. You can step down voluntarily or face dismissal by me. Choose wisely.”
Letty pressed herself against the wall, struggling to stay upright. She couldn’t return to Eshea, and now even this supposed escape route was closing. What could she possibly do? What options remained?
Suddenly, she pivoted toward the commotion where Connor was being led out and sprinted after him. She still had a chance to reach Evergreen University—he had promised her. He couldn’t break that promise.
Connor was shoved onto the walkway outside the hall. He stomped forward, seething, until Letty finally caught up. The two slipped into a nearby grove, where tempers flared into a fierce argument.
The number of S-tier students was small, allowing Rylie to conduct the evaluations efficiently. Yet her approach was not only decisive but instructive, offering valuable insight to every observer.
It wasn’t until the hall doors finally swung open that she emerged, flanked by a group of judges and surrounded by a crowd of students.
Dominic, having just arrived, noticed the elite students clustering around Rylie, each addressing her respectfully and eagerly seeking her advice.
With a warm smile, Dennis said, “You should stay and teach here. Your presence would lift these students’ abilities tremendously.”
“No, she won’t.” A deep male voice cut in from the other side, immediately drawing everyone’s attention. “Rylie is my mentor’s star apprentice—teaching here isn’t in her plans.”

Rylie looked up, pausing mid-thought. “Professor Holden?” Why was he here, and with his research team?
Dominic stepped forward, giving Dennis only a fleeting glance before focusing on Rylie. “Are you considering teaching at this academy?”
Before she could reply, Dennis interjected. “It would be a waste for Rylie not to dedicate herself to music. Her place is in the arts.”
Dominic’s eyes flashed with irritation. “That’s absurd. She was officially admitted to our institution, and she’s my student. On what grounds are you trying to poach her to teach here? Dennis, surely you understand that our school’s impact on human life surpasses anything your arts institutions could ever hope to achieve.”
“Oh, come on. Think about what you’re saying.” Dennis bristled, his posture stiffening as he prepared to debate Dominic head-on.
The intense standoff between the two men left the surrounding students staring in disbelief. How could they not recognize Dominic? As vice dean of Evergreen University, he was a respected figure in top academic journals, his profile even displayed at the university entrance.
And someone of that stature was actually Rylie’s mentor? He had chosen her as his most promising apprentice and had come in person to secure her. How immense must such recognition truly be?
Every student in the room shared the same thought: Rylie operated on a completely different plane of ability. How could she excel at such a high level in both arts and academia, with an extraordinary future clearly ahead?
