Chapter 1189:
One of the operatives answered calmly. “We don’t need her out in the open. We’ve timed it precisely. From the instant chaos begins to the moment the nearest patrol or her external security reacts, we have approximately two minutes and fifteen seconds. During that window, the entire intersection will be plunged into confusion.”
“What about her tracking devices?” Frank pressed, his concern unmistakable. “She managed to retrieve and broadcast footage of what Brad endured on that island. She always keeps recording and broadcasting devices with her, ready to turn any situation to her advantage. No matter how solid this plan looks, we could still be traced within minutes.”
“That’s exactly why we can’t use a conventional safe house or remain inside the city.” An operative named Melvin Hudson pointed toward the northwest outskirts of Crolens on the map. “Mount Meridian’s abandoned magnetite mine — the tunnels run more than three hundred meters underground. Between the main shaft and the long-abandoned vertical shafts, the interior is a maze of passages. The iron-rich ore and surrounding rock naturally disrupt and block radio signals. The mine has been closed since the 1980s — no activity, no traffic, no one paying attention. Even the surface entrance is carefully concealed.”
Kristen’s eyes burned with a terrifying intensity, raw revenge simmering just beneath the surface. “Perfect,” she said sharply. “That’s exactly the place. I’m taking back every ounce of humiliation Rylie ever forced on me — in that darkness.”
Frank saw it clearly now: the growing instability, the edge of madness creeping into Kristen’s gaze. “Kristen, that location is far too remote,” he said carefully. “For your own safety, you should let your people handle everything. They can record every detail, and you can review it afterward whenever you want. Going there yourself is extremely dangerous.” He hesitated, then added, “I’m afraid —”
“Enough with the what-ifs!” Kristen spun around abruptly and shot Frank a cutting glare, her words sharp and final. “If you’re afraid, then walk away now. My father and I don’t need you to finish this. Once I’ve broken Rylie completely, let’s see how long Brad can keep playing the hero. After this, how will the Kirk family dare call themselves untouchable? I’ll destroy every last one of them.”
Melvin’s brows knitted together, yet he remained silent. His orders were clear: ensure Kristen’s safe extraction and comply with her additional requests as fully as possible. Opposing the young mistress now could jeopardize the carefully planned evacuation.
They reviewed every detail with painstaking precision — vehicle types, crew disguises, timing, alternate routes, evacuation protocols, and mine rendezvous points — until dawn slowly lightened the sky.

For the next two days, nothing unusual occurred. Rylie maintained her usual schedule, moving between home, the office, and the hospital, immersed in documents and data. Even under potential surveillance, she moved with an air of unshakable composure.
On the tenth day, at precisely 5:35 in the evening, at the rear entrance of HaloFlow Hospital.
Brad watched the live surveillance feed and murmured into his micro-earpiece. “They’ve started moving. My team is already running predictions on where they might take you.”
Across the city, surveillance cameras adjusted subtly, fine-tuning their angles without drawing attention. The air grew thick as rush hour descended, traffic congealing until vehicles barely crawled.
