Chapter 1332:
“Unless you’re able to reach some kind of settlement with the other party,” the lawyer replied carefully. “And even then, the club violations will still result in a substantial fine.”
Carlos’s eyes reddened, his lips trembling with frustration and disbelief. “This didn’t come out of nowhere,” he said shakily. “Why would they suddenly investigate my club?”
The officer looked at him for a moment, something close to pity slipping into his tone. “The woman you attempted to assault—her husband happens to own the largest arms dealership in the world.”
The other officer gave a faint, almost imperceptible shake of his head. “Out of everyone, you chose him. You and your mother have gotten yourselves into something that’s going to be very difficult to get out of.”
Carrying Evelina in her arms, Melany boarded the earliest flight back to Eshea. Shortly after she settled into her seat, a flight attendant approached with a warm smile.
“We have an available seat in premium class on this flight,” she said pleasantly. “We’d be happy to upgrade you at no extra charge—would you like to move?”
Melany blinked, caught off guard. “Why are you offering it to me?”
“I noticed you’re traveling with a young child,” the attendant explained politely. “We prioritized you for the upgrade. If you’d prefer not to take it, I can offer it to someone else.”

“I’ll take it, thank you,” Melany replied without hesitation.
She settled into the window seat in premium class with Evelina and carefully fastened both their seatbelts. Then Deandre walked through the cabin entrance.
Her thoughts stopped cold. How had she not seen it immediately—this was arranged by him.
Almost instinctively, Melany pulled Evelina closer and lowered her head, fussing with the child’s collar to avoid being noticed.
His entrance hadn’t gone unnoticed. Several passengers in the premium cabin recognized him at once, and quiet murmurs began spreading through the rows. His face appeared regularly on the covers of major financial publications and news outlets. As the youngest global arms dealer and third son of the Owen family, he had already captured nearly half the world’s arms market before reaching his mid-thirties. Once widely known for his many romantic pursuits, he had in recent years become distant and cold, showing almost no interest in women at all—even the most influential socialites found it impossible to get close to him.
Now he stood in the aisle, his gaze locked steadily on the woman by the window.
He walked over and sat down in the empty seat beside her without hesitation. “What a coincidence,” he said, his tone easy and casual. “You’re on this early flight as well.”
Melany’s fingers curled into fists. “Are you tracking me again?” That familiar, suffocating sensation of being monitored crept back in, and she shifted uncomfortably in her seat.
Deandre barely reacted, only a faint frown crossing his face. “I have business to handle,” he said evenly. “After dealing with your situation yesterday, I needed to return home today.”
“Mommy…” Evelina stirred, lifting her head from Melany’s arms and rubbing her eyes slowly. “Where are we?”
“We’re on a plane,” Melany answered gently. “We’re going back to Eshea.”
