Chapter 249:
“Wow! This is huge! Did HaloFlow Pharmacy really cure Clive’s legs?”
“Wasn’t it said that his legs couldn’t be treated? A miracle, they called it!”
“Wait… Who is this streamer anyway?”
As the livestream crossed fifty thousand viewers, a user named Mylo’sMom suddenly entered the room. She showered Rylie with a great number of gifts, totally worth five hundred thousand dollars. The gifts’ effect lit up the screen, followed by a platform-wide announcement. “Mylo’sMom requests to video chat.”
Rylie felt the real show was just about to begin and approved the request. It was none other than Mylo’s mother — Veda Perry.
As expected, Veda’s presence was even more intense than Clive’s.
She appeared on screen dressed in a sharp business suit, seated in a sleek office. Her makeup was flawless. The moment her mic turned on, she fired away. “What’s wrong with you? I couldn’t stop myself from coming here to scold you! What nonsense are you saying? You think I’d let Miss Owen marry you? She’s way out of your league! You can’t even hold a candle to her! Stop embarrassing yourself!”
Mylo’s face twisted with embarrassment. “Mom! Everyone’s watching! How could you humiliate me like this?” he shouted.
Veda tapped her fingers on the desk, her voice sharp. “Embarrassed? Then maybe you should’ve thought twice before running wild in someone else’s livestream.”
She turned to Rylie and offered a polite smile. “Dr. Owen, I apologize. I should’ve raised him better. It’s my fault he’s causing you trouble.”
Rylie smiled gently. “Mrs. Perry, it’s fine. Teenagers tend to be impulsive during their rebellious phase.”
Mylo was so angry, he was hopping mad. “Who’s in a rebellious phase? I’m eighteen!”
Veda shot him a glare. “Eighteen? You behave worse than an eight-year-old! If not for Dr. Owen, your father would still be in a wheelchair. Instead of being grateful, you show up here to embarrass us?”
The live chat went wild.

“LOL! His mom just called him less mature than an eight-year-old!”
“If people are defending HaloFlow this much, it must be the real deal!”
“Mylo must always cause trouble, according to his attitude! After being taught a lesson by his parents, maybe he’ll learn to behave.”
Mylo was rendered speechless by his mother’s scolding, his face turning beet red, and finally blurted out, “You’ve all been deceived by her! She’s nothing but a fraud!”
Veda rolled her eyes. “You’re studying abroad. We never told you about this. So who’s feeding you these lies? Who’s behind this nonsense?”
That shut Mylo up. He lowered his voice. “No one.”
Veda turned back to Rylie. “Dr. Owen, I’ll come visit another day to apologize in person. I won’t interrupt your stream any longer.”
She ended the call swiftly, leaving with a final blow. “Mylo, your yearly allowance is canceled! If you want to know whether your father can walk, come home and see for yourself.”
The chat exploded with laughter.
Rylie took a calm sip of coffee, glanced at the screen, then accepted one final viewer for a consultation. After giving another accurate diagnosis, she tapped the desk gently.
