Chapter 318:

“So? How did it go? Everything alright?”

The woman stared at her with a puzzled expression, brushing Marsha’s hand away. “It was fine, but they already have a director here. Why would you lie like that? What ‘Genius Healer’ title are you even talking about?”

Marsha stood rooted to the floor, her limbs stiff.

There was already a director at the hospital? That didn’t make any sense. Ronan had given his word; he had promised that this position would be hers. A jolt of panic surged through her chest. Ignoring the fact that interviews were still in progress, Marsha flung the door open and marched straight in. “Who approved this? VitaLink has a new director already? Who allowed this to happen without my consent?”

But the moment her voice echoed through the room, she spotted Rylie seated at the head of the long table across from her. Dressed in understated clothing, Rylie sat composed, while the candidates for other positions were arranged neatly on either side. And resting on the table in front of her was a nameplate. The word “Director” stood out in bold letters.

A high-pitched hum filled Marsha’s ears. Her mind reeled. She stared ahead, too stunned to move, completely thrown by the sight before her.

The interviewers gave Marsha stern looks. “Miss, where is your number? Your number hasn’t been called yet. How dare you force your way in and disrupt another candidate’s interview?”

Another interviewer reprimanded her, “Your interview for today has been canceled. Leave this place.”

Marsha’s hand shook as she pointed toward Rylie. “Who is that?”

The panel watched her outburst in disbelief, exchanging stunned glances at her lack of restraint.

The interrupted candidate snapped, “Have you left your eyes at home? It’s written right there — she’s the director of HaloFlow Hospital.”

“The hospital director? That clueless girl is nothing more than a calculating little snake!” Marsha’s voice rose sharply, struggling to accept that the leadership role she had given everything for had landed in Rylie’s hands. She screamed, “This has to be a mistake! This hospital belongs to me! I’m the rightful director!”

Alarmed by her erratic behavior, one of the interviewers reached over and quietly pressed the button to summon security.

Realizing how they were treating her, Marsha furiously pulled out her phone and called Ronan, shouting in rage, “All of you are going to lose your jobs!” Rylie leaned on the table, chin resting in her palm as she quietly observed Marsha’s escalating panic.

After failing to reach him three times, Marsha was about to be dragged away by the guards when Rylie suddenly lifted her hand to halt them. “Let her make the call.”

On the fourth attempt, the call finally went through. Marsha quickly switched to speaker, her breathing ragged as she thrust the phone toward the panel. “Hurry up and tell them! Who does VitaLink Hospital belong to? Tell them right now!”

Ronan’s curt voice came through the line. “Where exactly are you?”

“I’m at the hospital!” Marsha cried, nearly on the verge of a breakdown. “VitaLink Hospital! Didn’t you tell me Brad agreed this hospital would be mine? I’m in the interview room and no one here believes me!”

A brief pause followed before a low, mocking laugh spilled through the speaker. “Marsha, did you honestly believe I spent two hundred million just to sleep with you? Come on. You’re not worth nearly that much. I only played along because I enjoyed watching someone so proud come crashing down.”
