Chapter 321:

Ronan flipped through the pages, his fingers moving slowly, deliberately. When he looked up, there was a trace of amusement in his eyes. “You really did your research, huh? Planning to snag a seat at the boardroom table too?”

“Can’t let you play me twice, can I?” Marsha gave a small smile and handed him a pen. “Rylie kicked me out of the hospital. If I don’t land a more respectable job, I’ll be the laughingstock among our peers. You know how much I care about my reputation, right?”

Ronan didn’t respond right away. Just as she began to pull the pen back, he caught her wrist and took it from her hand. “Fine,” he said.

He signed his name with a practiced flick, then slid the contract back to her without looking up. “But I’m not putting you in a technical role.”

“I don’t need one,” she replied smoothly. “Just make sure everyone knows I have a direct line to you.”

All Marsha really wanted was a title, and Ronan gave it to her without protest. Still, as he watched her walk away, a shadow passed through his eyes — sharp and unreadable.

Beside him, the woman curled up in bed murmured sleepily, “Mr. Boyd… did you actually give her those shares?”

He let out a low, bitter laugh. “She’s just another fool who thinks she’s smarter than she is.”

Outside, Marsha stepped into the cool night air. She paused at the edge of the driveway, her heels clicking to a stop. Then, slowly, she turned. Her gaze climbed to the glowing bedroom window above.

HaloFlow Hospital was expanding its recruitment efforts, opening nearly a hundred positions, including nurse jobs. While doctor candidates were required to meet Rylie for a personal interview, the final selection of nurses and support staff was left to the pharmacists from HaloFlow Pharmacy.

Only three final interviews were being held for the entire hospital, one of which Rylie arranged specifically for the retired veterans Brad had mentioned. Given their unique skills and backgrounds…

Physical conditions and backgrounds made it logical to have separate sessions: the nursing interviews were scheduled for the morning, while the veterans were set for the afternoon.

Stacey had also applied for a nursing position, this time at VitaLink Hospital, hoping to land a spot in their winter internship program.

With the Kirk family’s decline, their finances had dried up, and the once-reliable network of influence they had built had crumbled. The only thing keeping them afloat was a mysterious doctor who had bought nearly 70% of their shares — yet never showed their face.

Her three brothers had fallen apart in their own ways — one disabled, one blacklisted from his career, and the last drowning in gambling debt after being banned from competitions. With no one left to count on, Stacey knew she had to carve her own path forward.

But when she arrived for the interview, she froze. Hanging above the front desk was a sign she hadn’t expected to see: HaloFlow Hospital.

HaloFlow Hospital? Was it somehow linked to HaloFlow Pharmacy?

Her grip tightened around her bag as she stepped into the interview room, unease creeping beneath her otherwise polished exterior.

Thankfully, there were no familiar faces — no one she needed to dodge — and the interview moved along without a hitch.
