Chapter 443:
The moment Gunter’s gaze landed on Zaylee as she stepped inside, his expression darkened, his face tightening with displeasure.
Zaylee caught the shift instantly, but she refused to let it intimidate her. With the Morgan family and Sean standing firmly behind her, she wasn’t about to cower before a school principal.
“Zaylee.” Gunter’s tone was clipped and severe, his laptop open with her report email displayed on the screen. It was clear he hadn’t anticipated a student going over the teachers’ heads straight to the Department of Education with such bold accusations. “Why are you claiming that Melany cheated?”
The email, apart from its blunt title, was packed with what Zaylee had called evidence.
Gunter hesitated for a moment before pressing on, his tone heavy with disapproval. “If I remember correctly, she’s your classmate, isn’t she? The two of you were often seen leaving school together, spending time outside the gates. You’ve witnessed Melany’s improvement yourself. Why would you make up something like this?”
For a time, a Morgan family luxury car had been a familiar sight at the school gates, picking up both Zaylee and Melany. Gunter had heard the rumors circulating among the students and assumed the two shared a close friendship.
As she was faced with Gunter’s interrogation, Zaylee’s thoughts curled with scorn, a silent sneer flickering beneath her calm exterior.
Melany was no longer someone Zaylee could consider a friend. A country bumpkin like her didn’t deserve to get close to Zaylee. She refused to compromise and was determined to see Melany face the consequences.
“Mr. Wells, I’ve included solid evidence in the email I submitted to the Department of Education. I trust they’ll make their own judgment,” Zaylee said, her tone calm yet edged with disdain. “Even without my evidence, it’s painfully obvious that she cheated.”

She had photos from that dinner, capturing Melany sitting alongside Rylie and several teachers, including the principal, dining together. That scene alone was undeniable proof in Zaylee’s eyes.
Otherwise, with Melany’s usual results, how could she possibly have secured a spot in the Advanced Honors Class?
Zaylee clenched her fist, her thoughts swirling before she pressed on. “The extra questions on that exam were created by the Advanced Honors Class teachers, weren’t they? Even students from that class can rarely score full marks on those high-level problems, yet someone with consistently poor grades suddenly does? It’s beyond belief.”
Gunter’s eyes narrowed as he glanced at the email again, his expression darkening. “Your so-called evidence is based on the fact that Miss Owen had dinner with me? You’re assuming our teachers leaked confidential exam questions to her? If you make accusations without solid proof, I must warn you, it’s you who will face the consequences.”
“How is this groundless speculation?” Zaylee’s faint smile slipped into a colder expression. “You all dined together right before the exam, during a sensitive period no less. Isn’t that enough to raise suspicion? Anyone with a clear mind can see what your intentions were, and—”
