Chapter 465:
Upon reaching the farm, Rylie wasted no time in presenting a purchase agreement to Melany’s mother. “This is a standard supply contract. I also have several medical apprentices who hope to learn the methods behind cultivating ‘Snow Mint.’ They’d like to set up a research project with you as their mentor, and we’ll compensate you by the minute for your advice. Please review this — do you find the terms agreeable?”
Dottie blinked in disbelief, rubbing her eyes as she counted the zeros again and again. Her voice shook when she finally managed to say, “Two hundred thousand for every ‘Snow Mint,’ and two thousand for each minute of consultation? Isn’t that far too generous?”
Such sudden, unimaginable wealth left Dottie feeling as if it couldn’t possibly be real.
Rylie replied, “The offer is reasonable. These figures are consistent with current market value, and frankly, I didn’t overstate anything. If word got out, other buyers might offer even more.”
Loyalty settled Dottie’s answer. “You’re the only one I’ll work with, Miss Owen.” She knew well that anything so valuable also invited danger. Treasures like ‘Snow Mint’ needed someone trustworthy to guard them.
“Miss Owen, I’m happy to keep supplying you with ‘Snow Mint,’ and I’d be glad to teach your apprentices as well. Don’t worry about paying for my advice — sharing what I know is the least I can do.”
Rylie gave a firm shake of her head. “We’re keeping this businesslike. It’s a deal, not a personal gesture.”
Dottie reined in her excitement. She signed the form, placed her fingerprint, and then handed it over. “The school sent over the grades. Melany pulled through this time. I owe you for that.”
Later that night, Dottie asked her to stay for dinner. They ended up sharing a quiet, cheerful meal together.

Once the finals were over, the next hurdle — college entrance exams — was just two months away.
In the Advanced Honors Class, both students and teachers pored over Rylie’s notes. Most of it made sense, but a few sections pushed past what the syllabus covered. Even the teachers found themselves stumped.
Not long after, someone floated the idea of asking Rylie to step in and help out as a temporary tutor.
Everyone could see how much Melany had improved. If Rylie could stick around for another month, the whole class would probably get better scores.
“All those top students are asking for Rylie to teach them.” Larkin stood in Gunter’s office and said, “We haven’t been able to get in touch with her at all. Do you know how we can reach her?”
Gunter leaned back. “Didn’t Letty agree to fill in for a while?”
Larkin smirked. “She bailed after that thing with Rylie. Changed her plans last minute. She’s aiming for a spot at the Royal Academy of Arts. Sent her application in already. Odds are, they’ll take her.”
