Chapter 533:

Rylie opened the project proposal without another word, scanning the list of shop names. She still didn’t know exactly what kinds of businesses these families owned.

The corridor remained quiet as she made a call, her voice steady yet firm. “Pull up the roster for Brightwood High, twelfth grade, Class 2. I need full background checks on their families’ businesses. Find out how many submitted evaluation forms for shops in the ‘Nexus Future’ commercial district. Gather the data and send it to me.”

Barely five minutes after ending the call, an anonymous email appeared on her phone, listing several shop names.

The parents of the students kept sneering, their whispers pulling frowns from nearby onlookers.

Unfazed, Rylie asked a bodyguard for a pen and began to read in an even tone. “Beautiful Lady Lingerie. Deleon Perfumes. Serene Spa. And…”

With every name she spoke, she crossed it off the proposal until the last shop was gone. She then looked up, her eyes meeting the stunned faces in front of her. “Am I right?”

Not a single person moved. She had named every business their families owned.

She stood there, radiating quiet confidence, as though she had been in control all along.

Zaylee quickly stepped in, breaking the silence. “Rylie, I know you and Brad are friends, but that doesn’t give you the right to take his project proposal. You must have gotten this from the teachers ahead of time, didn’t you?”

Rylie offered no explanation. She shut the document and handed it to a bodyguard. “Take this to my brother. Tell him to blacklist every shop I’ve marked — none of them are allowed into ‘Nexus Future’ and any current partnerships with them should be ended. People who lie should face the consequences.”

The bodyguard took the document with a respectful nod. “Understood, Miss Owen.”

“Who do you think you are?” Beatrice scoffed. “End partnerships with us? That’s laughable. Our luxury businesses have ties with the Owen family, the richest in the country. You talk as if you’re the Owen family’s daughter — except they don’t have one. Only sons!”

Rylie’s lips curved slightly, but she remained silent. Instead, she fixed Zaylee with a pointed look. “Zaylee, you’ve lived in the Morgan family estate for years. Has it never crossed your mind to wonder who their neighbors are?”

Zaylee knew Rylie lived in Serenity Manor, but she had never bothered to find out who else called it home.

The chill in Rylie’s gaze and the weight behind her words stirred unease in Zaylee’s chest.

Before she could respond, Rylie signaled for her bodyguards to wheel her back to the VIP ward. She had intended to walk around earlier, but after the scene that had just unfolded, she lost all interest in staying.

Once Rylie was gone, Beatrice continued shouting, demanding that the police be called to arrest her. However, Zaylee knew too much noise could stir up evidence they couldn’t control — and the lie would quickly fall apart.

She stepped in swiftly. “Mrs. Truman, please calm down. There’s no need to block the nurses’ station or cause trouble for them. They still have other patients to care for. Let’s settle this another time.”
