Chapter 852:
She messaged many of her friends, finally confirming that his parents had truly disowned him.
She went still, disbelief flickering in her eyes. They were so determined to keep him away from her that they had renounced their own flesh and blood?
A chill crept up her spine as reality settled in. What kind of future could she possibly have with a man who had never once proven his worth?
As she contemplated her next move, Paola stumbled upon Evan once more. Tears sprang to her eyes, and she slipped into the corridor, burying her face as she sobbed.
Evan slowed his steps, then placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“What’s weighing on your heart, my beautiful lady?”
Paola lifted her gaze, her eyes brimming with tears, and spoke in a trembling voice.
“I just found out Mylo slept with another woman, and we argued. He even raised his hand against me. I don’t know anymore if he’s capable of ever making me happy.”
Evan’s expression softened with sympathy as he drew her into his embrace.
“Any man who would strike a woman isn’t worth keeping. You should walk away from him.”
“But if I leave him, who else would ever want me?” Paola cried, her voice breaking. “I was framed by powerful people, and to protect my family, I took all the blame. I’ve lost everything. There’s no longer a place for me in Crolens.”
Without thinking, Evan said, “Then let me take you away.”
Her heart leapt at his words, though her face remained hesitant, shadowed with doubt.
She looked up at him through tear-streaked lashes and whispered, “Mr. Carrillo, would you really take me away from all this sorrow? But… I’m not worthy of someone like you.”

Evan gently brushed her tears aside, his tone steady and tender.
“Don’t say that, Paola. You’re kindhearted and beautiful, and you deserve far better than what you’ve endured. None of this was your fault. Come with me to Eryndor. No one knows your past there, and you can begin again. I’ll look after you.”
His words soothed the turmoil in Paola’s chest, easing her anxiety over Mylo’s downfall and stirring a deeper flame of desire within her.
Eryndor. A new beginning. A man richer and more captivating than Mylo. It felt like destiny itself had shifted in her favor.
Tears and anticipation shimmered in her smile as she nodded eagerly. “Thank you, Evan! Could you give me a few days to think about it?”
“Of course,” Evan said with a gentle smile, pulling her into his arms. Yet from a concealed angle, a fleeting, frosty gleam crossed his eyes.
After comforting Paola and watching her leave, he made his way to the piano room, where Rylie and Marcus were absorbed in their melody. When the final notes faded, he spoke in a calm tone. “It seems Paola is about to throw away the last chance you gave her.”
Rylie turned slightly. “Oh? She’s aware that Mr. and Mrs. Perry have disowned their son?”
Evan replied, “She hasn’t said it outright, but I can tell she’s tempted to accept my offer. Still, why would I want a woman so venomous?” He gave a quiet, amused laugh. “Her vanity and greed are almost nauseating. She acts as if I were some fool overflowing with money.”
