Chapter 869:

The video laid everything out with unmistakable clarity.

The modestly dressed boy, both anxious and excited, slipped a token into the prize wheel. The pointer stopped squarely on the grand prize, and he burst with joy as he received the limited-edition robot toy from the glass case.

The footage then shifted to a group of children, led by the chubby boy, surrounding the smaller child with false accusations. They seized the toy and shoved him first.

Moments later, the elegantly dressed Darla appeared on the screen, hurling insults, flaunting her wealth, and displaying unrestrained arrogance, all while deliberately ignoring the truth. The entire scene was captured clearly, leaving no room for doubt.

Darla, who had earlier tried to brush the matter aside, turned deathly pale. Her lips trembled, yet not a single word escaped.

The onlookers watched with contempt until one voice rose above the rest, shouting,

“Well done, Mr. Owen! You’re the kind of rich man who actually stands up for those in need!”

The human resources director, Darla’s husband, stared at the footage showing his wife’s haughty behavior and his son’s deliberate deceit. His mind reeled, sweat soaking through his shirt as dread settled deep within him.

“Did you see everything clearly?” Felix asked in an icy tone. “This is the wife you keep defending, the one you claim speaks without malice. And this is your son, already skilled in deceit and theft.”

“Mr. Owen, I—” The man tried to explain himself, but every word died in his throat under the crushing weight of the evidence. He turned toward his wife, rage and humiliation surging until his restraint finally snapped. He struck her across the face, the sharp sound echoing through the hall.

“You senseless woman! As if your cruelty at home weren’t enough, you bring shame upon us here as well? You even encouraged our son’s lies and theft! You’ve ruined everything we have!”

Darla staggered from the blow, pressing her hand to her cheek as tears finally broke free. She sobbed uncontrollably.

“You’ve never truly cared about this family! I’ve carried all the burdens! If our son misbehaves, shouldn’t you bear responsibility too? Why do I have to take all the blame?”

Felix watched the scene with cold detachment, unwilling to waste another moment on them. Turning to the mall manager and the security personnel who had gathered nearby, he issued his command.

“Handle this properly. Make sure the woman and her son receive a full apology and fair compensation. As for this couple and their son—”

His gaze swept over the disgraced pair collapsed on the floor.

“I don’t want them appearing at any Owen Group–related events again. Inform the entire industry of this former director’s behavior. The Owen Group has no place for people like them.”

“Understood, Mr. Owen!” the manager and guards replied in unison.

This was not merely a dismissal, but a near-total exile from the industry. The man’s knees gave way, his face drained of color as the reality sank in. His decade-long career had come to a devastating end.
