Chapter 930:
Rylie lifted an eyebrow, suspicion flickering in her eyes. Samson must have been threatened during transport. “Why would I harm a child?” she asked. “Were those not your so-called clients who fired the first shots?”
“Enough nonsense!” the inspector snapped, his face flushing with anger.
Before he could go further, a man in a tailored suit stepped in, his manner smooth but his words cutting.
“Miss Owen, I suggest you mind your tone. False claims against respected citizens won’t help your case. You say you protect animals?”
He paused, letting the room absorb the implication. “Yet Miss Shaw, Mr. Robles, and the others were found terrified and injured, while you, your brother, and his associates were armed and leading an assault. This looks less like heroism and more like a planned attack.”
Rylie’s jaw tightened. “You’re questioning me while ignoring what’s in plain sight—the villa filled with preserved animal corpses. Isn’t that what you should be investigating?”
“The matter before us is your criminal behavior,” the suited man replied evenly. “Any unrelated offenses will be handled separately. We won’t wrong the innocent.”
Rylie gave a short, bitter laugh. “Right. Of course not.”
Just then, the door swung open. Kailee and Jennifer entered with a female officer trailing behind. They were the only ones unscathed in this confrontation.
They had cleaned up, their faces pale but polished. The faint tremor in their voices sounded practiced.
“Officers,” Jennifer began, her voice quivering as she pointed at Rylie and Deandre.
“It was them. They broke into our private gathering and opened fire without warning. We only defended ourselves. My friends are blameless.”
Kailee added quickly, wiping away fake tears, “We just wanted to support animal protection. We never imagined something like this would happen.”

Soon after, the lawyers representing Felipe, Shaun, and the others stepped forward.
“Our clients are unable to appear due to severe injuries,” one of them announced, “but they remain fully conscious and have personally authorized us to convey their statements.”
Together, they painted Rylie and Deandre as intruders—cold, armed, and merciless—while presenting themselves as victims who had only sought to help animals.
No mention was made of the hunting games. No word of Ella’s shooting. Not a hint of the plan to erase evidence.
They assumed the villa’s surveillance footage had already been wiped clean by their own people, leaving Rylie with no solid proof.
And the animal specimens? Those could easily be framed as educational materials, or tools for monitoring wildlife health.
Within moments, the tide of influence and false testimony began closing in on Rylie and Deandre.
The lawyers laid out one damning piece of “evidence” after another, tightening the noose with every word.
