Chapter 995:
Marcus handed Deandre a limited-edition watch, and Deandre returned the favor with a set of rare antique books from his collection. Felix gave his grandfather a chess set crafted by a well-known artist, and Kendrick’s wide smile showed how much he loved it.
When Rylie’s turn came, her gifts piled high. Her brothers had given her jewelry, stylish clothes, and rare herbs.
Sean’s gift, though, drew every eye in the room.
Rylie opened it at once, and the sight inside left everyone breathless—a property deed.
“Why would Sean give Rylie a property deed? Does he think we can’t afford a house?” Felix asked.
Deandre pressed his lips together in displeasure. “Unless it’s the presidential palace, we can buy any property we want. Who does he think we are?”

The room filled with chatter, and even Brad couldn’t hide his curiosity. “Let’s see what it is,” he said.
Rylie lifted the deed so everyone could look.
As they recognized the address, the teasing faded from Felix’s and Deandre’s faces, replaced by pure shock. “This looks like the Morgans’ old house.”
Deandre’s playful tone vanished as the weight of such a gift settled in.
Brad’s expression shifted, showing he understood exactly what his grandfather intended.
Kendrick drew in a sharp breath before murmuring, “Sean truly is generous.”
Rylie glanced toward Brad, uncertainty flickering in her eyes. When Brad looked back, his steady gaze softened with emotion before settling into calm understanding.
He placed his hand gently on top of the deed in hers, his warmth offering reassurance. “My grandfather is telling you that the Morgans’ old house now belongs to you. You are the future member of the Morgan family.”
He paused briefly, then added, “And he’s also trusting me to be in your care.”
Rylie held the deed that felt far too grand for her and let a soft smile spread across her face. “All right.”
Any lingering doubt the Owens once had toward Sean slipped away, replaced by respect for the way he always planned ahead. Their most precious girl truly deserved to be treated with that level of care.
The conversation drifted aside, and everyone’s focus shifted to Brad’s gift, mostly because the box looked unusually small next to the others.
Taking note of its size, Deandre joked, “What is that, the newest laptop? If it is, then it’s the weakest gift here.”
Brad ignored him completely and let Rylie open it at her own pace. Rylie peeled back the wrapping paper and uncovered another deed.
When she looked more closely, she saw it belonged to a private island.
“I bought an island under your name,” Brad said. “It’s big, comes with a private plane, and you can build anything you want there. I don’t want you to ever feel weighed down. If you get upset or need space, you can go there to breathe. People say its stargazing views are the best in the world.”
As his words settled over the room, silence followed. Even Rylie’s brothers, who had felt proud of their expensive gifts earlier, suddenly found themselves humbled.
Kendrick cleared his throat. “I can’t pick favorites, but I’ll say this: Sean and Brad win tonight’s gift-giving.”
Rylie’s turn came next, and her presents looked modest beside the others.
