---- Chapter 119 As Zelda started to walk away, Jenna snorted. "One day, someone else will take over looking after Ethan. It's not like he'll be an unruly child forever." Zelda paused and turned to look back at her. "That's true. Ethan won't be a child forever. When he grows up, he'll probably understand why Mrs. Frank moved out and left him." Jenna recognized a reflection of Wendy in her provocation . They really were two of a kind. She didn't respond.
Instead, she shut the door, cutting off Zelda's watchful and wary gaze. One day, she would carry James's child, and just like Wendy, Ethan would be kicked out of the Frank family. That night, the villa finally fell quiet in the early hours of the morning. At daybreak the next morning , Wendy opened her eyes and immediately noticed the chill in the room. The curtains fluttered in the morning breeze, reminding her that she had forgotten to close the window last night out of exhaustion.
After a whole night of chilly wind, her head felt groggy and heavy. After breakfast , she took some medicine to ward off a cold. But just as she reached the doorway, her legs suddenly ---- gave out. If she hadn't quickly grabbed the cabinet by the entrance, she would've collapsed right there. She immediately checked her temperature. The result showed that she had no fever. Yet, she still felt awful. Suddenly, Wendy's phone vibrated. She stood still for a moment, trying to ease the dizziness.
Then, she took out her phone to check. It was a message from Zelda. "Ethan had a fever." Ever since Ethan was woken by a nightmare last night, he hadn't slept well, and he had now developed a low fever this morning. James had already arranged for him to take the day off from kindergarten , and Jenna and Zelda were looking after Ethan together at the villa. It was only then that Wendy realized the source of her unease all morning and the reason she had nearly tripped moments ago.
After all, Ethan was her son, the child she had carried for nine months. The idea of a mother and child being connected like that couldn't be explained by science, but that didn't mean it was not real. After some thought, she replied to the message. She sent instructions on how to use the medicine and a simple recipe. ---- Feeling a bit better after that, Wendy stepped out the door. Strangely enough, once Ethan's low fever was under control, Wendy no longer felt unwell herself.
Wendy decided to put the matter aside for now. She had work to focus on and couldn't monitor Ethan constantly. As long as someone was there to care for him, that was sufficient. In the following days, the seminar team began intense preparations to receive the returning patient. Wendy's group proposed two treatment plans for the rare mixed diseases within just three days. The plans focused mainly on curing the condition, with symptom relief as a secondary goal.
Besides Gregory and Wendy, the others were Alex and his mentee Kaleb, as well as Dylan and Julian. One treatment plan was a more conservative approach developed collectively by the team, while the other was completed solely by Wendy. "You've prescribed drugs with side effects that are too severe. They could seriously damage the patient's liver and kidneys in a short time." Julian raised a serious concern during the group meeting. Wendy opened her slides and pointed to the patient's case file.
"T've reviewed her physical condition. After these years of treatment, her liver and kidney functions remain intact. "While administering my treatment, I'll strictly monitor her liver and kidney health and take care of her detoxification functions . I guarantee the issues Dr. Drake mentioned won't ---- occur." Gregory nodded. "I'm somewhat familiar with Wendy's approach. From what I see, this plan doesn't have major problems besides being bold." Dylan also agreed.
"Why not submit both to the seminar ? It might help everyone."
